I play in paper scissors and I recently toured to Anchorage, Girdwood and Trapper Creek with my drummer playing original fast music inspired by jazz. I also do a unique show combining comic books and stand up comedy and slam poetry. it is very progressive leaning and can be tailored for a adults show (bawdy material- biting social commentary) or for a kids show (songs about science, dinosaurs, etc). BulletMARC BROWN & THE BLUES CREW - Winners of numerous local battle of the bands, including State in '98 and State runner up in 2008.  In 2008 we entered the National Battle Of The Bands and out of a 1008 bands, we made it to the finals where they featured the top 16 .  We came in 4th.  We were featured in the New York Times Feb 4, 1999 and featured in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner several times, along with releasing 9 cds. We've toured the state of Alaska from Barrow to Yakutat, from Fort Yukon to Bethel, from Homer to Anaktuuvik Pass, from Anchorage to Fairbanks and almost everywhere in between.  Along the way we've sold 17,000 cds from 9 different releases. We've played the Tanana Valley State Fair, the Deltana Fair & Music Festival, The Marlin, the UAF Pub, and other public venues in the Alaskan Interior. We are lucky to have two of the best musicians in Alaska on fiddle and banjo (plus vocals): Ryan McLaughlin and Adrian Lerner. Additional members include Carl Andersen on lead and rhythm guitar and vocals; Ken Brown on dobro, rhythm guitar, and vocals; John Adams on mandolin and occasionally on fiddle and vocals; Jon Oestreich on bass and vocals; Red Scullion on rub board and percussion; and Ned Gaines on harmonica.
